Paisley is the largest town in Scotland and is only 8 miles from Glasgow. With a population of approximately 100,000 people, excellent transport links, an enterprising university and lively churches, it makes it an ideal choice for a home or place of study.
   Its shopping centre is in two covered shopping malls with ample parking.  Most of the major High Street names are found in the town.
   It is well served with public transport.  It is close to Glasgow airport, only 10 minutes on a frequent train service to Glasgow Central and next to the M8 motorway which links Glasgow to Edinburgh.
   Its sport facilities include a leisure centre, complete with skating rink and swimming pool.  Other nearby facilities include a show case cinema and ten pin bowling.
   The abbey is an important historic building being the home of the Stewarts, the fist Kings of Scotland.  There is also a Roman Catholic cathedral.
